candlewatch.co.uk

CandleWatch keeps the record of what you actually traded — every leg, every fee, every currency conversion — and works out what it adds up to, including the UK capital-gains matching that a spreadsheet gets wrong. Every figure shows its workings, so you can check it rather than trust it.

It is a learning tool, not a tipping service and not financial advice. Most apps open with what to buy. This one opens with what you already did, because that is the part where being right is possible: arithmetic on your own record can simply be correct. Reading the market is a different kind of claim, so those tools sit behind the accounting rather than in front of it, and each one shows its inputs instead of asserting a verdict.

How it treats your data

Your book works offline. Market data does not.

Trades, holdings, fees and the whole capital-gains computation are worked out on your device and need no signal. Live market data is the exception, and the honest one: prices, filings and news are fetched from the outside world when you ask for them, so those need a connection.

Nothing about you is sold.

No analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting and no advertising identifier. Used on its own the app has no account and no server, so there is nowhere for your book to have gone. If you add your own market-data or AI key, those requests go to that provider under their terms, using your key, and never through us.

Your data, in short

Works with no signal
Your book, yes. Trades, fees and the capital-gains computation. Market data, no. Prices, filings and news are fetched when you ask.
Account
Only for the hosted service, which keeps your book on the server so it follows you to a browser.
If you sign in, the copy is held
On the CandleWatch server, against your account. Export or delete it at any time.
What it asks the phone for
Notifications and background checks, for the alerts you set. No location, camera, microphone or contacts. A market-data or AI key you add goes to that provider, never through us.

It starts with what you already did.

Your trades, your fees and your currency conversions, kept as a record rather than a guess, and each leg booked at the rate on the day it happened. Every figure shows its workings, so you can check it instead of trusting it.

The tax year, worked out.

UK capital gains computed from that record, with the reasoning shown against each disposal and an export at the end of it. A computation you can check, not tax advice. It files nothing for you and it says plainly what it cannot account for.

A desk for reading the market.

Charts, indicators, market breadth and company filings, in the same place as the record they belong to. Everything is shown with what it was based on, never asserted.

Tuned by you, not for you.

Nearly all of it is yours to configure, and when you change something the app tells you what that changes and why. The defaults are a starting point for learning, not a house view.

The detail

Price

Your data
Used on its own there is no account: your watchlist, positions, trades and settings stay on the device, and uninstalling deletes them. Signing in to the hosted service is optional and keeps your book on that server instead, so it follows you between your phone and a browser. You can export it or delete it at any time.
Capital gains
UK rules. Used elsewhere it is still a full trade journal with fees and currency handled properly — the matching section simply will not apply to you.
What it is not
Not a broker. It cannot place trades, it holds no money, and it files nothing with anyone. Check anything you act on with an accountant before you rely on it.
Made by
One App Company, in the UK. Questions go to support.

CandleWatch is an educational and simulation tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice, it is not a broker, and it cannot place trades. Nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Market data may be delayed. Trend reads are illustrative and can be wrong. Any decision you make is your own, and you are solely responsible for it. Never risk money you cannot afford to lose.
